	October 13, 2011 Chinese Develops Humanoid Robots That Can Play Ping Pong A human-like robot plays Ping Pong made debut in China. The robots are developed by a University which located in Zhejiang province, eastern part of China. The two robots as shown can capture the track of the ball by a camera installed inside before making reactions. The robots, 160 cm tall and weighing 55 kilograms each, took the university four years to develop. The two robots are called "Wu" and "Kong", decked out in old-fashioned Chinese jackets. They have electronic arms, legs, eyes, ears and painted hair, just like our human counterparts. The robots can track Ping Pong balls by using eye-mounted cameras, predicting the movement of the balls and responding accordingly. The cameras capture 120 frames per second, transmitting the images to the robots' processors and allowing them to respond appropriately after calculating the ball's position, speed, angle, landing position and path. It really takes a complicated identification and positioning system to perform. The designer at the university's robot lab also aims to develop robots that can do housework. We rather hope to see the upgrade version of "Wu" and "Kong" performing Chinese Kungfu like Jacky Chan!
