We work with our suppliers and contractors to promote sustainable business practices and environmental management policies by setting goals that enhance operating efficiencies and reduce waste, and by taking steps to reduce our "carbon footprint" through lifestyle changes.

The following highlight progress we have already made in reducing our impact on the environment, and our key partners in this mission:

Packaging Materials & Waste
We are making significant progress to reduce excess packaging in shipments to our customers, and have introduced additional types of recyclable packing materials to protect items while in transit.
We enhanced our order fulfillment process to determine the "right-sized" box for any given item to be shipped to a customer, based on that item's dimensions and weight. As a result, the number of packages shipped in a wrong-sized box has decreased dramatically, significantly reducing packaging waste and transportation costs.
In addition, most orders are shipped in corrugated containers which contain recovered fiber content. Once used, these containers are 100% recyclable for use in the manufacture of other paper products.

Energy Consumption
The Paliwoda Group supports the growth of sustainable energy use through commitments to renewable power sources, and integration of innovative greener technologies into our operations. We seek to diversify our energy supply whenever possible, with a preference on sustainable energy sources such as wind and solar power.
We partnered with EarthEra® to help offset the carbon dioxide emissions generated from our operations with clean energy and efficiency projects which reduce greenhouse gas emissions while building a clean energy future. The EarthEra program directs all revenue to the EarthEra Renewable Energy Trust to build new wind and solar energy production facilities in the United States. This partnership is the latest initiative in our sustainability platform, and complements several energy conservation activities already in practice.

American Forests®
The Paliwoda Group is committed to offsetting the environmental impacts of the resources and raw materials we use throughout our businesses. Our goal is to become completely carbon neutral, and we proudly support American Forests' work to restore the environemnt through tree planting. Trees planted on our behalf help to efficiently clean the air and reduce greenhouse gases by sequestering carbon dioxide.
American Forests is the nation’s oldest citizens nonprofit conservation organization, and a world leader in tree planting for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests. American Forests helps people plan and implement local actions to restore and maintain healthy ecosystems and communities.

Earth Day Network
The Paliwoda Group has partnered with Earth Day Network to incorporate environmentally friendly practices into our day-to-day operations, and within our local communities we actively support Earth Day initiatives that benefit the environment.
Earth Day Network works year-round to broaden the environmental movement through education, programs and partnerships which affect change at the local, national and international level. Its mission is to inspire, educate and mobilize people, governments, and corporations to take responsibility for a clean and healthy environment.
